Software Engineer

The Role

Self-motivated individual responsible for the complete life cycle of new software products along with modifications to existing software. You will be involved in all aspects of a project including pre-studies, requirement engineering, design, implementation, testing, documentation, training and support.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Participate in customer visits to gather requirements and assist with project definition and scope

• Production and review of design proposals and functional specifications

• Develop pre-study documentation and estimations of development cost and lead time

• On-site start-up and commissioning along with providing training to the customer on application use and maintenance

• Support trouble shooting and identifying software defects

• Focus on continuous improvement

• Provide installation support for Atlas Copco standard IT solutions

• Develop and maintain Application Center IT solutions

• Cooperate globally within Software development team and share local experiences

• Cooperate closely within related business departments to provide professional

software solutions and services

• Design and create standardized solutions

• Analysis and development of customer specific software applications

• Implementation and design of customer specific communication protocols for Atlas Copco tightening controllers

What We Expect of You?

ExperE

Education Education

• Bachelor or Master of Science in software, computer or electronics engineering with a strong focus on software design, alternatively a comparable degree in any other engineering or mathematical, natural science with an adequate working experience in software design and development

Experience Experience

• APIs and the use of libraries

• Client/server architectures based on UDP/TCP socket connections

• Software development under Microsoft Windows and Linux

• Relevant experience of writing requirements for technical systems

• Development of customer specific communication protocols

• LAN- and WLAN- installation

• Object-oriented software design

Knowledge Knowledge

• Software development life-cycle

• ASPICE

• Knowledge of embedded software development under Linux

• Knowledge of Motor Vehicle and/or General Industry segments

• Knowledge of MES system, SCADA, data collection

• Knowledge of PLC basis

• Understanding and interest in customer applications

• Knowledge of general design patterns and algorithms

Skill

• Programming language C# and C++

• Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server Database configuration & maintenance

• Version control system (Jira, Trac, svn, git, etc.)

• Analytical problem solving skills

• Ability to question the way we do things in order to find a better way
