WHAT'S THE ROLE?

The Red Ventures' Software Engineer Associate Program targets high-performing individuals who have demonstrated a track record of success through educational and internship performance. Associate Engineers are hired in our office in Charlotte, NC and will benefit from group on-boarding, company sponsored events, and on-the-job training in languages such as C# and Golang. Even as a new Engineer, you'll have daily exposure to our Tech Leadership team and benefit from their unparalleled experiences.

You will work on a wide array of projects ranging from customer facing websites and social API integrations to proprietary search marketing and data tools. Some responsibilities could include:

  • Architect and develop web-based applications and components for high-traffic consumer-facing websites

  • Collaborate with business leaders and analysts to determine business requirements and rapidly translate them into creative, executable and effective solutions

  • Work with automated build and unit testing platforms

  • Maintain your own project timelines in a fast-paced environment

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Preferred 3.0 GPA or higher

  • Preferred major in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or another related field

  • Recent experience in hands-on software design and backend coding through internships, work experience, or side projects is highly preferred

  • Object Oriented Programming and software design ability preferred (PHP, C#); able to develop systems that meet architectural objectives including reusable, scalable code

  • Experience with other awesome web languages (Golang, React, JavaScript, Node.js) is a plus

  • Analytical and detail oriented with the ability to prioritize, execute and deliver projects on time

  • Creative problem solvers and quick learners

  • Scrappy, tenacious, and self-motivated team player coupled with a competitive spirit, no ego, and a great sense of humor

  • Willingness to hurl Nerf darts at your neighbor. Or your boss.

This position is intended for a May 2019 graduate and will join our Transportation practice with a Traffic focus. Relocation is not provided for this position. Job Summary Assists assigned department by performing basic engineering-related tasks including research, development, design and delivery on assigned project(s). Essential Responsibilities * Contributes to the preparation or modification of reports, plans and designs for projects. * Assists in the preparation of project quantity and cost estimates. * Performs other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities * Assist in the preparation of feasibility studies, crash analysis, traffic forecasts, traffic capacity and operations analysis, traffic impact analysis reports, signal design, signal timing, signal systems, ITS, highway signing and other related traffic engineering work. * Participate in traffic data collection studies and conduct project-related field work. * Perform design calculations. * Check calculations and drawings. * Perform specific short term analysis and design applications. * Organize scheduling of specific tasks and assignments. Incumbent must have the ability to stand and sit frequently and reach horizontally as well as vertically for overhead use. Work may infrequently be performed at client's job site, construction trailer, and in the field.
