In one sentence
Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining software systems related to the major Backend functionalities for Amdocs proprietary Billing system. You will take ownership and accountability of the backend applications in the Ensemble Billing application and provide a technical support and problem resolution for critical / complex issues.
What will your job look like?
You will develop operational automations, identify issues, perform in-depth investigation and troubleshooting.
You will obtain knowledge of the end to end operational flows of Billing backend applications. You will constantly review the new billing functionalities and analyze them from operability and maintainability perspective and develop new monitoring solutions to accommodate them.
You will interact with the customer directly, as well as internal Amdocs teams, give training session and serve as the main point of reference for the complex backend-related enquiries.
You will develop operational automations using Amdocs proprietary tools, as well as web applications development, such as Java and PHP.
You will interact directly with Amdocs Development organization to understand the new billing requirements, design and develop automated monitoring for them and implement them in production
You will present demos of the new functionalities to stakeholders and internal/external customers, using knowledge of the product/solution and technologies to influence the direction and evolution of the product/solution.
You will investigate issues by reviewing log files, performing complex Oracle queries and utilize your knowledge of the backend application to come up with the creative workaround or intelligently escalate the issue to the development.
You will review changes for operability to maintain existing software solutions, will highlight risks and will help mitigate risks from technical aspects.
You will bring continuous improvements/efficiencies to the software or business processes by utilizing software engineering tools and various innovative techniques, and reusing existing solutions. By means of automation, reduces design complexity, reduces time to response, and simplifies the client/end-user experience.
You will represent/lead discussions related to product/application/modules/team and build relationships with internal customers/stakeholders.
All you need is...
Bachelor's degree in Science/IT/Computing or equivalent.
4-7 years' experience as a software engineer , production support engineer or a software developer.
Experience in Telecom Billing.
Close familiarity of programming concepts and ability to develop a software code in languages like PHP, C, C++,PERL, Java, ksh or similar.
Solid knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL.
Expert knowledge of Unix/Linux operation systems.
