Software Engineer

We are seeking a curious, creative, and forward-thinking software engineer with strong background in Python, PySpark, and cloud computing for an exciting opportunity with a global leader in advanced connected vehicle technology.

The goal of this team is to enhance the quality, design, marketing, and development of our current and forthcoming products through innovative solutions. A key initiative includes developing a state-of-the-art connected vehicle analytics platform, delivering actionable insights to boost product quality and value.

This role will have a very strong focus on data transformation, and demands a candidate adept in crafting complex analytic solutions, and utilizing Python and PySpark within an Agile framework. Data transformation will be accomplished programmatically with heavy Python development (this is a software engineering role, not a data engineering role). Lots of daily interactions with stakeholders will be a critical part of this position, and this team engages in frequent pair-programming.

Essential to this position is a solid track record in managing intricate data transformations and a strong understanding of Big Data methodologies and tools.

This position is hybrid, currently going into the office once a week, with expected increase to 3 days.

Pay range: $60.00-$65.00 per hour. Benefits are offered, and for those who may require it, sponsorship.

Requirements

• Overall 5+ years of work experience in delivering customer facing products in a highly collaborative, enterprise environment.

• Python/PySpark Development Proficiency: Demonstrated capability in developing Python/PySpark applications from conceptualization to deployment.

• Experience with Hadoop environments.

• Very strong SQL skill set.

• Desire to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment and is passionate about driving innovation in data analytics to improve product quality and performance.

• Ability to apply extensive technical expertise to develop effective data transformation solutions, advocating a collaborative problem-solving approach.

• Profound knowledge and application of Object-Oriented Design principles are essential.

• Familiarity with Google Cloud Technologies is preferred, however we will consider candidates with good experience with AWS and/or Azure, and their analogues to GCP tools like BigQuery, DataProc, etc.

• Demonstrated ability to architect a solution from design to delivery.

Education Required:

• An Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar technical discipline
