Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Software Engineer 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. These positions will be within the Aerospace Systems Sector within our Centers of Excellence for Space and Strategic Systems Software and Unmanned Systems Software. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.

Essential Functions:

  • Design, development, integration, and testing of software.

  • Determining user needs; analysis of system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls/documentation.

  • Architecture, designing and development of an advanced system and realizing the concept into a prototype or production system.

  • Performance of moderately complex tasks and ensuring software standards are met.

  • Collaboration with highly energetic team members on new concepts and then demonstrate to internal/external customers.

Basic Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of software engineering experience OR

  • Master's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university

  • Experience developing software/writing code in C/C or Java

  • An active DoD Interim Secret or Secret level clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

  • Experience in Software Test

  • Familiarity with Rhapsody, Eclipse, Atlassian Tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Bamboo etc..)

  • Familiarity with Agile software development process

  • Experience with Python

  • Eclipse or other integrated development environment (IDE)

  • Knowledge of Linux systems with basic commands

Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for an Engineer Software Quality 2 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida. Provide an overarching focus on systems and software, product and process quality throughout the program life-cycle. Participate in Peer Reviews and Product Reviews as a principal team member to ensure 1st time quality and compliance to program and company requirements. Ensure the flowdown of requirements is complete and unambiguous and that consistent bidirectional traceability is maintained. Participate in contractual reviews and audits, program/IPT meetings, and configuration control board meetings. Perform process audits of the engineering and management processes to assure compliance to established policies, procedures, work instructions, and program specific plans. Examine the products associated with the preparation and configuration control of software test environments to assess the team's readiness to enter formal testing. Witness execution of software qualification and system acceptance tests to ensure tests are executed in accordance with approved test procedures, requirements are fully verified, and that all test procedure and software anomalies are documented and tracked to closure. Ensure thorough root cause analysis on all major findings (product and process) and ensure appropriate corrective and preventive actions are developed and implemented in a timely manner. sfwas meleng Basic Qualifications: * Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Information Systems from an accredited university * Must have 2 years of experience in Software Quality, Software Engineering or related discipline * Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: * Proficient in computer programming language(s) (e.g. C, C , C#, Java, Java Script, etc.) * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Experience in audits of engineering processes * Experience in software supplier management (i.e., supplier audits) Northrop Grumman is committed to hiring and retaining a diverse workforce.
