About This Role:

Veranex has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Software Engineer 1. You will be part of a team working to improve lives globally through medical technology innovation. The Software Engineer 1 will develop technical aspects of software engineering across projects, focusing on software functionality and code quality and collaborating with a diverse team to create secure, efficient, and user-friendly solutions.

What You Will Do:

• Designs and develops software applications in support of numerous medical devices and programs, for use in many environments including lab, hospital, or remote settings.

• Integrates software with a variety of hardware platforms and analyzes and troubleshoots the hardware/firmware interface.

• Develops secure, cloud connected applications following HIPAA and IEC 62304 compliancy.

• Develops applications with intensive, interrupt driven communications for real-time process control applications using multiple serial channels and communications protocols.

• Executes full software development life cycle - requirement capture, architecture, implementation, testing, and support of user interface applications.

• Documents, designs, and performs integration, testing, debugging, and installation support and activities.

• Interfaces with design team to support functional test and measurement requirements.

Qualifications

Required skills:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related field

• 1+ years of software development experience

• Proficiency or knowledge of SOME/NOT ALL the following technologies (JavaScript, Java, C++. C#, HTML/CSS, TypeScript, SQL, Python, Go), Open-Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS tools, and services.

• Willingness to work on medical device software in a consulting environment which requires you to work on 2-3 different projects at the same time (and be able to "switch hats" several times during the week).

Preferred:

• 1 + years of experience in Medical Devices or other Safety Critical software or related field.

• Proficiency in creating test cases using C++, GTest and GMock framework, or a similar framework.

• Use of debugging tools, including software debuggers, and electronic diagnostic devices for software development, integration, debugging, and troubleshooting.

• Must work onsite 3 days a week in the office in Orange, CA
