Datapath is a serverless compute solution for low-latency, high-throughput microservices. It is the next evolution of service-oriented architecture (SOA) that is core to Amazon's eCommerce business. Amazon customers using Kindle, Prime, Instant Video, Music, Fulfillment, or just shopping online, depend on a highly available server backend provided by the Datapath platform.
As a software development manager on the Datapath team, you will lead a team of talented engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of new experiences for our customers. You will work on a tier-1, multi-tenant, high performance system, with technical challenges unique to this kind of scale and throughput.
A successful candidate will have an established background in leading customer-facing platform teams, a strong technical ability, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment.
8+ years of relevant engineering experience
3+ years of people management experience
Experience as a technical lead throughout the full software development lifecycle, from inception to delivery
Experience building products used by developers
Experience with serverless solutions
Comfortable with juggling competing priorities and handling ambiguity. You thrive in an agile and fast-paced environment on highly visible projects and initiatives
Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
