About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening for a Software Development Manager. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:
Lead the full stack development team and define system architecture, to deliver a Java-based Business Intelligence Suite
Meet with customers and stakeholders to document the customers' requirements using customer-centric UX principles
Establish a product vision and roadmap
Work directly with program management and senior management to define product features and team objectives
Break the work down into a prioritized product backlog
Manage, hire, and train the DevSecOps team members
Work with the technical teams to plan delivery schedules
Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of solution
Work with the technical teams to identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems
Help maintain implementation quality, organization, and DevSecOps toolchain
Monitor project status, including risk management, and communicate this information with all stakeholders, including upper management
Ensure training and system documentation for users is completed
Perform other duties as assigned

Required degree and years of relevant experience for this position are as follows:
Required Experience & Skills:
Experience leading full stack development teams to design, develop, and implement enterprise IT applications to support business requirements
Strong understanding and proficiency in Java-based development
Practical understanding of DevSecOps principles and ToolChains
Proficient in development of AWS-based cloud native services
Strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with stakeholders, team members, external vendors, various levels of management, and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience
Experience resolving technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation
Expert level understanding of Oracle and SQL-based data repositories, logistics processes, scheduling and delivery best practices, and other business processes
Proficient with the software development lifecycle best practices
Clearance Requirement

AWS working knowledge or certifications
Understanding of object-oriented programming
Familiar with design and architectural patterns

Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $103590 - $176130
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
