Are you interested in building new tools that combine big data storage, management, data governance, and GenAI experiences? Worldwide Amazon Stores Finance Technology (WWASFT) is building a new platform to consolidate and enhance how information is provided to our customers across the finance and business organizations. This platform will revolutionize the way we deliver actionable insights and empower our customers to make data-driven decisions.

In this role, you will be part of a team developing a distributed system that involves data producers, data discovery, data consumers, self-service data solutions for low latency analytics, and a custom interface that provides a connected experience for users, including Consumer Finance senior leadership.

In this role, you will:

• Write high-quality distributed system software leveraging technologies like Apache Kylin, Amazon Athena,

Amazon Redshift, AWS Glue, Amazon EMR and others.

• Build production-quality and large-scale deployment of applications related to big data and GenAI.

• Use software engineering best practices (e.g., Agile, CI/CD) to ensure a high standard of quality for all team deliverables.

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain innovative software solutions to transform service performance, stability, cost, and security.

• Help drive business decisions with your technical input and expertise.

• Work in an agile, startup-like development environment, where you're always working on the most important initiatives.

• Mentor and lead junior developers on the team, fostering their professional growth.

About the team

The Worldwide Amazon Stores Finance Technology (WWASFT) team serves as the dedicated technology partner for Amazon's global Amazon Stores (AS) organization. Our mission is to deliver innovative technical solutions that empower Amazon Stores' financial and operational processes and systems. We are committed to providing cutting-edge tools and services to support over 4,000 Finance end-users across all Consumer and Operations finance verticals. Moreover, we own and maintain a suite of centralized fintech products that enable common financial activities such as planning, variance analysis, allocations, data management, analytics, reporting, and compliance and controllership functions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• 3+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience

• 3+ years of server-side development experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 5+ years of contributing to new and current systems architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) experience
• 5+ years of computer science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving and complexity analysis) experience
• 5+ years of server-side development experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
