What does a great Tandem Software Engineer do?
As a member of the GS Onsite delivery team you will be responsible for Software Development and Engineering for Card Service Product as per the Product Development Life cycle (PDLC) defined. The Software Developer will support Fiserv's Global Service teams in developing scripts, flows, programs, and other custom software to Support Card Service Application. It will be important to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical associates, and be able to document a complete and comprehensive work product.

You will work with our highly skilled team in an agile environment to support a growing card Services Business unit. You'll have the chance to learn about the financial industry while utilizing your Tandem and OLTP skills development skills.
Effectively represent the development team and develop relationships across multiple internal groups; Contributes to client satisfaction through quality code and on-time delivery.
Role requires a fair amount of manual and automated testing per project demands, writing test plans and test cases, taking part in peer reviews, participating in design sessions and code reviews.
Continuously focuses on and develops professional skills and masters new tools / techniques. Diagnoses development needs most applicable to the team, and pursues training / tools to fill those needs.

What are the required and preferred qualifications?
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent work experience required
4+ years of experience in Software development required, preferably on HP NON Stop Tandem
Card domain and OLTP applications experience strongly preferred
Ability to quickly learn new technology and apply knowledge to solve technical and business problems required
Strong Tandem and/or COBOL skills required
Deep knowledge of software engineering and computer science fundamentals required
Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a project team in a cooperative effort required
Analytical, troubleshooting and issue resolution skills required
Having good knowledge in any Switch and Tandem Concepts. Preferably EPOC/Base24 Switch Knowledge strongly preferred
Understanding of Agile Process and Ceremonies preferred
Experience in Tandem COBOL, TAL, TACL, C, Tandem OS, Pathway Servers preferred
