Picture it. Renaissance, a leading provider of technology-based school improvement and student assessment programs for K-12 schools is adding an additional Scrum Team to its Wisconsin Rapids, WI location. We are looking to add a SDET (QA Engineer) as part of this team.

As a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) working in a Scrum Environment, you will test software applications and features using test suites and scripts, perform anomaly reporting, software analysis, develop automated software test packages using various technologies, perform functional and performance testing, apply black box and white box testing techniques and conduct software development data validation functional and performance testing.

This is not a contracting position.

  • Prepare test plans, develop test cases and execute tests with a focus on coverage, performance and automation.

  • Create, update, maintain and execute automation suites and other testing tools as needed for use by QA.

  • Enhance, maintain existing automation test tools such as C# and Selenium.

  • Investigate bugs using various available tools and server logs

  • Establish and maintain structured testing methodology, especially around automation.

  • Respond to inquiries from users and technical support regarding functions and operations of software programs

  • Identify process improvements, error trends and/or the root causes and make recommendations for remedies to colleagues and management.

  • Actively participate in Agile development methodologies

  • Engineering, Information Systems or other Technical degree preferred; or 3-5 years related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience.

This Senior Software Engineer role will be part of this new team. In this position you will collaborate, design, and create our next generation of web applications with your teammates in an Agile Scrum environment. In your areas of expertise you will be helping to shape our technical design and development standards, participating in various Agile Scrum ceremonies. Responsibilities: * Design, implement and support user-facing features in Renaissance's web and iOS products * Build libraries and frameworks that support large, complex web applications * Optimize web applications to maximize speed and scale * Create fast, easy-to-use high volume production applications * BS degree in Computer Science or Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience * 5-7 years experience performing front-end development in a fast-paced, Lean/Agile environment * Experience engineering software systems of medium-to-large scope and complexity * Experienced .NET developer Experience in the following languages is a plus: * .NET Core * MongoDB and/or PostgreSQL * AWS: Kinesis, S3, RDS, Lambda Candidates for this position are great coders with strong written and verbal technical communications skills and a demonstrated ability to work in an Agile Scrum environment.
