Digital Advice Technology (DAT) is looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test who will contribute to our suite of Schwab automated investing products, including Schwab Intelligent Portfolios and Schwab Intelligent Portfolios Premium, by participating in team planning and technical design, implementing high quality code and automation, and working to define and maintain quality standards. The team develops, tests, and releases core APIs, workers, databases, and libraries that back the Intelligent Portfolios product offering. This position provides the opportunity to work innovatively and collaboratively with product and technology partners to execute to Schwab's vision to be the most trusted leader in investment services.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to -

• Participate in the development of stories while maintaining a high level of quality

• Ensure best practices are followed from a testing and automation perspective, and influence automation framework and general QA decisions.

• Leverage current and evolving technologies to design, code, test, log, debug, document and analyze current/future applications with a focus on maintainability, security, availability, and scalability.

• Build and maintain strong relationships and partnerships with team members, product partners, and dependent cross-team members

• Participate in troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of production support issues by answering and providing details on key functional questions regarding application behavior

Hybrid Work at Schwab -

• Employees will have a consistent hybrid schedule, spending 3-4 days each week working from one of our corporate offices and 1-2 days working from home, depending on their role. This blend of in-office and remote work supports teamwork and on-site collaboration while giving employees the ability to spend some time working from home.

• To help employees get off to a strong start, new hires will spend at least four days a week working in the office for their first six months with Schwab. What you have

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or related practical experience

• 5+ years of hands-on application programming and test automation / framework experience

• Experience developing software in C#

• Experience with test automation as a part of Continuous Integration, enabling Continuous Delivery

• Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects, Development, QA/Testing organizations and Business teams

• Experience in the development of automated framework(s) for enterprise level functional and regression testing

• Ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions when tools don't work

• Ability to contribute to all phases of the SDLC

• Documneted experience and understanding of Agile Methodologies

• Programming, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

• Prior experience or familiarity interfacing with SRE / production support

• Motivation and passion to stay on top of new and emerging test and automation technologies, and the ability to provide direction to team on quality approaches

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience and working knowledge of Web Applications, Databases, Web Services, batch processing technologies

• Strong knowledge of Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.), Excel, Word and Visio, UML tools, Swagger, requirements management tools

• Experience with cloud-native enterprise applications in public or private cloud is strongly preferred

• Prior experience with trading systems or financial services experience is a plus
