We are looking for an SDE II to be an important contributor on the team that implements and supports the Smartsheet Dashboards. Dashboards is central to all functionality in Smartsheet, by working with this team you will make a large impact across the entire product. You are someone we can count on to build features that delight our customers and contribute to our next-generation architecture using the most modern technologies. You will collaborate across the organization to provide a seamless experience between Dashboard and the many features that work with it.

You will work from our headquarters in Bellevue, WA, reporting to our Senior Manager of Software Engineering.

You Will:

  • Contribute in all stages of the product development and deployment lifecycle: idea generation, user interviews, planning, design, prototyping, execution, shipping, monitoring and iteration

  • Use your coding skills to write clean code, implementing features in JavaScript and Java, integrating with back-end services running on AWS

  • Ensure high-quality feature delivery through unit, integration and end-to-end tests

  • Develop scalable components for the next generation of dashboards (React, Redux, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS)

  • Collaborate with other software engineers, database engineers, SRE, and product managers

  • Mentor junior engineers on code quality and best practices

You Have:

  • 2+ years software development experience

  • Proficiency with programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or similar languages

  • Familiarity with data structures, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools.

  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

  • BS in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent industry experience

In this role you will be responsible for the architecture, design and implementation of highly scalable distributed systems that provide availability, scalability and latency guarantees. In addition you will be expected raise the standards of the organization by mentoring junior engineers, interviewing and upleveling the coding standards.
