As a Redshift Software Development Engineer, you will build systems that orchestrate and manage Redshift clusters across the world. You will take significant ownership on the overall product vision by defining new features and architecture.

You will distill complex and ambiguous requirements, converting them into meaningful projects that provide immense customer value. You will own code end-to-end from design, development, deployment, monitoring, and operations. You will lead engineers to tackle interesting problems and help develop a flourishing team through active mentoring and hiring.

Our team focuses on providing Redshift customers with high availability through intelligent operations and cost-utilization systems that minimize downtime while enabling industry-leading price\performance. At the same time, we continuously improve Redshift usability and performance through API-based access and ML-driven query analysis and cluster usage recommendation. Creating reliable, scalable, and flexible distributed services requires exceptional technical expertise, fundamental Computer Science skills, and practical experience building large-scale systems. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

• Experience programming with at least one software programming language

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
