The Team Lead role on the Accounts Payable Development team will be responsible for managing day to day activities such as scheduling and prioritizing work, gathering requirements for future strategic design initiatives, and acting as a first line of escalation for both internal and customer stakeholders. The candidate must have excellent communication skills and be adept at partnering with other departments, Tyler divisions, and managing external customer relationships.

The position requires leading and coaching individual developers and quality assurance professionals in a team orientated environment to deliver quality software in a preset allotted time frame. The Team Lead will work closely with the Team Manager to assess individual contributor competencies, assist in guiding employee career initiatives, and fostering a collaborative and positive team culture.

Responsibilities

  • Leveraging Agile Development processes for managing client experience backlog and customer commitments

  • Manage the scheduling and prioritization of development work with the ability to react and manage competing priorities

  • With guidance of the Team Manager, build and manage the development team including software engineers and quality assurance professionals including onboarding and career development

  • Assist in the development of end user specifications as well as defining project goals and milestones

  • Research and requirements gathering for future development initiatives

  • Ensure timely software deliverables while maintaining a high level of quality

  • Become a subject matter expert, and facilitate knowledge sharing of product functionality including best practices

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software development, project management, or related activities

  • Excellent understanding of applicable software systems including: Vendor Management, Invoices and Payables, Purchase Order liquidation and maintenance, P-cards, Employee Expense, Student Activity, and related processes.

  • Strong understanding of database structure and design

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycles

  • Familiarity with current reporting tools and technologies

  • Experience with Agile development methods and practices

  • Ability to react and manage competing priorities in a fast paced, ever changing environment

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, active listening, presentation and analytical/problem solving skills

  • A demonstrated ability to collaborate across team or division boundaries with a Total Tyler mindset

  • Some travel may be required
