VectorCSP is looking for an experienced Software Developer, Senior to work in the Bedford, MA area.

Job Summary:
Development, creation, and modification of general computer applications software and specialized utility programs.


  • No Secret Clearance Required

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in science or engineering and/or at least 5 years of software engineering experience relating to software development projects.

Essential Duties:

  • Test engineering

  • Design software or customized software for client use with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency

  • Analyze and design databases within an application area

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Work individually or coordinating database development as part of a team.

  • Possess the ability to perform tasks and oversee the efforts of junior and mid-level personnel within the technical/professional discipline.

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of their technical/professional discipline as well as possess a comprehensive understanding and ability to apply associated standards, procedures and practices in their area of expertise

Key Description: Join our our Open Health Services Department working as our Healthcare Software Developer Intern for Summer 2020! Our department designs, builds and deploys open source digital healthcare services that support the Healthcare Triple Aim at national scale. We utilize sound software engineering practices to implement a secure software factory for the sponsor that follows current DevOps best-practices to allow rapid deployment of new capabilities from development through to production. The internship will focus on open-source software development on healthcare libraries and applications while working closely with a team of developers in the Bedford Health Lab. What does an ideal MITRE Computer Science/Software Engineering Intern have: * Demonstrated interest and/or experience in applied software engineering, human-centered computing, intelligent systems, platforms solutions, prototyping and experimentation * Proficiency in one or more of the following--Java, Python, XML, HTML, C#, Objective C; Database design & development including SQL. * Experience working with mobile environments and mobile computing * Experience working with design recovery, software analysis, and/or reverse engineering tools * Experience with a broad set of software development tools * Excellent academic performance * High level desire to help their nation solve its most critical problems * Exhibits the characteristics of a continuous learner Minimum Requirements: * Currently pursuing a degree in computer science, software systems engineering, or a related technical field. * Experience or interest in the domain of health. * Familiarity with Java, Python or Go. * Students should have a 3.0 or better grade point average in Computer Science or equivalent. Additional Information * Students need to be enrolled full-time in an accredited degree-seeking university program and intend to be enrolled the following semester, as well (exception--we have a few internships for high school students)* 70% of MITRE's full-time jobs require US government security clearances, therefore many internships require that the candidates be clearable.
