This is an entry level Software Developer position as a member of a dynamic team responsible for developing and maintaining software that improves air traffic operations in the National Airspace System (NAS).
The environment is either object oriented (primarily C++/Java), or C language on a UNIX/ Linux platform.
Working both as a member of a team and independently the successful candidate will be:
Optimizing the experience for the flying public and Air Traffic Control
Developing and maintaining the FAA air traffic control software (primarily C/Java) on a UNIX/Linux platform.
Performing software development as needed for the system
Providing support needed for system engineering and test engineering
Deriving requirements to meet customer needs
Troubleshooting technical issues and identifying modifications needed in existing applications to meet changing FAA requirements
Developing the design for new enhancements
Working in a team environment
Degree in: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent. Ability to develop in C ++, C, Java and UNIX/Linux. Knowledge of full-life cycle software application development. Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/ combined education. Entry level.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Typically requires BS degree or equivalent experience and less than 2 years prior relevant experience.
