About the Team

The Intralinks ILNext team has developed and release a new UI experience for our FinTech customers that uses the latest practices and technologies. The organization has an initiative to introduce accessibility into the application. This role provides a unique opportunity to work on a focused effort with clear goals and to learn a development skill that has become extremely valuable in the marketplace.

As an Intern on our team you will:

  • Work alongside our Accessibility SW Development champion

  • Make the necessary code changes to ensure our application aligns with expected WCAG requirements

  • Participate in the organization's existing Accessibility Guild

  • Cascade knowledge of accessibility best practices and tools to other teams

  • Provide a forum for resolving issues

  • Develop training to be consumed by the wider development organization

  • Track and monitor our accessibility remediation efforts

  • Create a specification for support

  • Provide accessibility demonstrations to our field and customers

Required Qualifications & Relevant Experience:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelors degree

  • 2 3 years of formal software development instruction

  • Experience in UI development using JavaScript frameworks (React experience is a plus)

  • High level understanding of accessibility practices (WCAG) and tools (AXE, NVDA)

  • Ability to learn new concepts

  • Strong presentation skills

Project Description

Working on a small independent team and taking direction from our Accessibility champion, this position will be responsible for modifying our existing UI to align with stated accessibility requirements. Any learnings from this experience are expected to be shared with other development teams via our existing Accessibility Guild. The project will also require alignment with our services organization, providing them with the necessary knowledge to properly address any accessibility related field escalations. At the conclusion of the project the individual is expected to develop and deliver an accessibility training session to communicate learnings and patterns to the wider developer organization
