Tokio Marine HCC - D&O, a member of the Tokio Marine group of companies, provides specialized insurance products, is seeking a Software Developer. As a Software Developer on our team, you will be responsible for the implementation of new features and maintenance of our new in-house built policy administration application in a collaborative team and with our business stakeholders.


  • Write clean, scalable code using .NET programming languages

  • Develop well-structured C# code

  • Develop client displays and user interfaces

  • Assist software personnel in handling project related work and other requirements

  • Coordinate with other software professionals and developers

  • Analyzing and resolving application issues as necessary

  • Document, implement, and provide ongoing technical support for supported applications in our continuous delivery process

  • Responsible for troubleshooting, reproducing, and resolving issue in the application

  • Research, planning and providing proof of concepts for enhancement when necessary

  • Other development duties as assigned or requested


  • 3 or more years relevant work experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Familiarity with the ASP.NET framework (4.0 and above), SQL Server and design/architectural patterns

  • C#, WPF with XAML experience.

  • Team Foundation Server

  • MVVM code pattern

  • Entity Framework, ADO.Net

  • Strong experience with T-SQL, SQL Server management, Stored Procedure creation

  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC)

  • Understanding of Agile methodologies (previous experience on a Scrum team a plus)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills

  • Able to work well in a team setting

  • experience with DevExpress a plus

  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops a plus

Power electronics and motor control software development is the main job function. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES * Responsibility for the design, development, test, and maintenance of embedded software for hard real-time applications for motor and power electronic controls * Work individually across a matrixed team environment and collaborate within a team of engineers located in worldwide engineering centers Location: Farmington, CT Reports to: Senior Manager, Software Engineering THE PERSON Otis is looking for a hardworking, collaborative, self-motivator that works with creativity and energy as a power electronics and motor control software engineer in a medium size group to design, develop and test motor drives for elevator systems. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS * BS Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Computer Engineering. * Must be familiar with * PM and induction motor dynamic models, * control theory including PI regulators, * phase and gain margin stability analysis, * digital filters, * digital observers, * DFTs and FFTs * Must be able to develop and maintain real-time control software including ADCs, PWMs, state machines, hardware abstraction layers, serial communications, memory management. * Must be able to trouble-shoot complex software. * Familiarity with Texas Instruments C2000 DSPs, Code Composer Studio, and ST microcontrollers preferred. * Must be able to work with software change management and configuration tools. * Must be able to work in a global team environment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * MS in either Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) * Minimum 5 years' experience with MS degree or higher * Knowledge of Scrum and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) * Familiarity with .Net Visual Studio and C# * Electrical / power electronic hardware design development skills COMPENSATION To attract the right individual, Otis is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package.
