What You'll Do:

The Software Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of new and existing software applications written in a variety of programming languages including ASP.NET, C#, Visual Basic, C, C++, HTML/CSS, Javascript and MS SQL stored procedures focused on integrating 3rd party business systems. Assist in planning, conducting, analyzing and providing recommendations on performance and quality testing to meet the needs of Arizona College of Nursing (the "College"), its faculty, colleagues, and students.

  • Assume the role of in-house programming expert for integration of 3rd party applications. This includes full life cycle application development, designing, coding, debugging, documentation, and continued maintenance of the systems.

  • Maintain and develop data integrity and data integration between all databases.

  • Design and direct implementation of new strategies addressing the College's requirements.

  • Coordinate, program, maintain, and document software integration with other software and hardware within the College.

  • Evaluate and identify new software technologies for implementation. This includes software analysis, requirements analysis, software review, system risk analysis, and software reliability analysis.

  • Update job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

  • Support other members of the IT team as needed, i.e., team projects/rollouts, hardware/software support, etc.

  • Document assignments, findings, recommendations, and assumptions in ticketing system.

  • Document test cases, test plans, and test execution results in ticketing system.

  • Adhere to the software development coding guidelines established by the team.

  • Utilize the team's software version control for managing the software development process.

Other duties as assigned.

What We Need From You:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Programming/Computer Science or related field or equivalent skills and experience required.

  • MS certification and strong SQL server background is a plus.

  • Strong project management skills and programming skills in Microsoft.Net, C#, SQL, XML, HTML, CSS, Java Script and ASP.net.

  • Knowledge with personal computers in a Microsoft networked environment; Citrix; VMware; Cisco and Vo/IP preferred.

  • Proficient in the use of Access, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint required.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with non-technical and technical colleagues.

  • Good analytic skills and the ability to apply these skills in a multi-tasking environment where more than one project may require their participation at the same time.
