We are a small development team focused on building a new fully-automated test framework in Java from scratch to support the enterprise-wide integration data framework. The tests can be run on any platform and in any environment. It can be run repeatedly in a continuous build environment or by a single customer to verify that their system works before going live.

Within our team, we support one another and help each other tackle their tasks as a team. We have a great work environment and a flat organization. You will work with an experienced developer that is there to provide mentorship and help you grow as a developer. We encourage and welcome team members to bring in new ideas to share with the team.

While our team is small, it is part of a much larger organization that fully integrates our Software Development/Test Engineers into a much larger team of developers and software professionals in an Agile environment. You will develop software functionality and software tests at the unit, integration, and black-box functional level to support a large-scale enterprise application. As a junior member of this team, you will work with an experienced developer while coordinating with other team members and the scrum masters to identify and prioritize tasks in our backlog of work. You will be central to making sure the software performs to specifications and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Development experience with Java or some other object-oriented programming language

  • Willingness to learn

  • Have worked collaboratively in teams

  • Attention to detail

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or 2 years of relevant experience

Skills You Have or Want to Learn:

  • Experienced with Linux, OS X, and Windows operating systems

  • Experience with web services

  • Secure coding practices

  • Experienced with developing and testing of software applications

  • Experience with Test Automation

  • Experience with Automated Testing Frameworks

Extra Credit

  • Open source contributions (Please supply links)

  • Cloud computing concepts

  • Well versed in Jira and Confluence

  • Familiar with Agile Scrum software development

Test Engineer - Software and Network Communications Responsibilities: The Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) is a weapons system which produces military intelligence collected by systems such as: the U-2 Dragonlady, RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-9 Reaper and MQ-1 Predator. It consists of computer hardware and software connected together in a computer network, devoted to processing and dissemination of information such as images and other intelligence data. The successful candidate will support the program office during the system life cycle by providing technical assistance and advice in test and evaluation engineering activities to include efforts that support or contribute to improved system performance; program/project management; logistics and operations management; project monitoring and reporting; data collection; performance auditing; administrative technical support. Qualifications REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: SECURITY PREREQUISITE: Must have and maintain an ACTIVE Top Secret SCI clearance. 8+ years overall industry experience Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline 6+ years of experience with NETWORK systems * Individual must possess in-depth knowledge of engineering principles, computer hardware and computer software to provide expert network systems support of hardware/software test requirements, analysis, evaluations, development, and integration/implementation of system updates * Apply engineering test principles to network design & operation, operations, consolidations and network migration (including servers, storage, workstations, software applications, and enterprise services) 2+ years of experience with System Acquisition * Proficient in Systems Engineering; data reduction & analysis; Technical Requirement Document review; Test Plans & Procedures analysis * Engineering support experience for development of detailed hardware, software, and firmware designs for highly complex integrated computer/network systems 2+ years of experience in Testing & Evaluation – executing/witnessing Site Acceptance Tests * Solid experience in establishing and directing test and evaluation of existing integrated computer/data systems to assess their capability, performance, quality, security and effectiveness in both developmental and operational environments * Progressive experience in the testing of complex software applications to ensure operational safety suitability and effectiveness 2+ years of Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (DCGS) or Program Management Office experience OTHER REQUIREMENTS: * Must be able to demonstrate sound relationship building and management skills * Must be able to travel once per month * Must possess excellent written and oral communications skills SECURITY PREREQUISITE: Must have and maintain an ACTIVE Top Secret/SCI clearance, and able to successfully obtain a CI Poly.
