Description:

The qualified candidate will be part of the Everett, WA high-performance engineering team responsible for the research and development of firmware and software used in the manufacture of Fluke products. The team consists of embedded software and firmware developers, and the ideal candidate will bring an aptitude for integrating solutions to provide our customers the best products in the world.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a technical leader for major new product development projects or multiple simultaneous projects.

  • Design, develop, test & debug, document, and perform analysis on embedded software and devices.

  • May be responsible for developing or executing project plans and processes, schedules and for documentation of work and results.

  • Collaborate intensely with the UI/UX, Hardware and Manufacturing Engineers to develop products that meet internal and external customer expectations.

  • Create appropriate software architecture to support software applications and achieve optimal performance and flexibility.

  • Keep up to date on knowledge regarding current trends in software development practices and tools.

Qualifications:


Required Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field. Experience can be substituted for level of education.

  • Minimum 4 years professional software development experience with embedded Linux devices.

  • Significant experience with C 11 or newer.

  • Have experience using an Agile-based development process, preferably some flavor of Scrum, on multiple projects.

  • A minimum of two years experience with all phases of the SDLC / product development process: design, testing, release, maintenance required.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to evolving requirements and system changes.

  • Ability and interest learning new programming concepts, languages, and practices.

  • Demonstrated ability in agile estimation practices.

  • Experience with source control (SVN, Git, and etc.)

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)

  • Qt QML development experience a plus.

  • IoT / cloud architecture experience a plus.

  • Radio firmware development experience a plus.

  • Experience securing network-connected devices a plus.

Electrical Design focuses on turning systems requirements into physical designs that fly people safely and efficiently all over the world. As a member of our Wire Design organization there are a number of different path choices. Our engineers use their knowledge in a highly collaborative environment to define the right electrical parts, for the right applications, at the right cost. They architect the wiring layouts throughout the entire airplane based on stringent safety requirements while taking into account the most efficient methods to build and maintain the airplane. They often work closely with the factory and watch their designs become reality. Additionally, they work with our airline customers to incorporate new technologies and cool features into their airplanes. Job Description: * Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs to meet system wiring requirements (e.g., wire size, wire separation, grounding) by performing sizing and derating calculations, selecting materials (e.g., wire types, sleeving, shielding) and parts (e.g., connectors, terminal blocks, splices), incorporating lessons learned, defining parts lists, and drafting wire diagrams. * Analyzes results and performs design reviews to ensure that design requirements are met. Investigates design precedents, documents and releases engineering design data for use by downstream organizations, Boeing customers, and third party or government certification authorities. * Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests) by investigating manufacturing and test problems, researching and analyzing product data (e.g., drawings, parts standards, specifications), and coordinating with cross-functional groups (e.g., design, manufacturing engineering, manufacturing) to identify solutions. * Provides engineering support to diagnose and resolve customers' issues (e.g., fault indicators, failures, abnormal behavior) and responds to customers' inquiries using electrical design documentation, simulation, and test. * Documents processes, specifications, and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities by providing electrical part qualification, testing, and tooling requirements for electrical parts.
