While we promise you a lot of responsibility, you also will have the opportunity to have ownership over projectsoh, and we promise you there will be some fun mixed in there, too!We are looking for a full-time Data Engineer for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for contributing to data development and operational stability of the Big Data ecosystems. Other essential functions include:Build and architect big data architecture in software development cycle

Ability to write scripts as needed to interact with big data clusters

Develop cloud-like self-service solutions

Learn new data technologies and practices proactively

Identify and resolve problems proactively

Analyze existing data solutions and recommend improvements

Thoroughly document work in an organized manner

Communicate in written and verbal form effectively

Must be detail-orientated and have the ability to work proactively and effectively with minimal supervision

Ability to prioritize and multi-task independently in a flexible, fast paced and challenging environment The technologies worked on constantly evolve but currently include mySQL, SqlServer, Oracle, Cassandra, HDP, Kafka, PCFQualified candidates will possess a Bachelors' Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, or another technology related field. Other qualifications include:Proficiency in data extraction, transformation and loading from various sources

Ability to architect big data solutions and strategies specific to data types

Ability to script in Java/Python/Scala to link and process data

Ability to configure and administer NoSQL databases such as (but not limited to) Cassandra, MongoAbility to configure data transfer technologies like Kafka, Spark, HDP, MQTT, RMQGood understanding of relational databases like SQLServer, Oracle, MySQLAdvanced Windows or Linux Administration skills

Experience working with cloud infrastructure like PCF, KubernetesAnalyze existing data solutions and recommend improvements

Ability to provide best practice guidance for data technologies Identify and resolve problems proactively
