Job Type Full-time Description At Steven Douglas Corp (SDC) we design and build custom, automated machines that are used in a wide variety of applications and industries. We work in a fast -paced, exciting, and highly technical environment where our team never designs the same machine twice and is often challenged with solving problems with no standard solution.

Software Controls Engineers - Automated Machines at SDC are collaborative, detail-oriented individuals that are responsible for developing and programming complete solutions for automated equipment according to customer and internal specifications. As our machines are becoming more advanced, our need for additional Electrical Controls Software Engineers is growing.

We are looking to add experienced individuals with strong C#, CODESYS, Inductive Automation's Ignition programming as well as Python and database development experience. Every machine and project have different requirements therefore, this position is fast-paced and requires strong communication, problem solving and decision-making skills. Essential Functions:

Design and develop innovative and advanced software and machine controls programs, based on customer specifications, including: C#, Visual Basic, SQL and database development experience CODESYS, Inductive Automation's Ignition programming, Python Design/programming of Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) Robotic Programming Industrial Machine Vision Systems Electrical and Control system design PLC programming (not required) Evaluate and specify hardware and software components such as robots, grippers, load cells, motion controllers, sensors, vision systems and lasers to complete a variety of required tasks Provide thorough testing of machine functionality to verify software program completeness throughout the project lifecycle Manage assigned projects to maintain on-time and on-budget machine deliveries Requirements Bachelor's Degree and 5 years in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science Engineering related field required. Strong decision making and communication skills.

Ability to coordinate with a project team Ability and willingness to travel to support projects, up to 10% Experience in Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi PLC's, HMI's, Servo control, electrical design, or industrial machine vision systems a plus. Experience with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, LabView, MatLab, microcontrollers or robotic programming a plus.
