A driven Software Architect who will play a key part of our customers' success with our best-in-class Location Intelligence Products, which are built on a foundation of platform capabilities such as Geocoding, Address Validation, and Search. You are a forward thinker who can collaborate with business stakeholders and clients to convert business/functional requirements into technical requirements, provide architectural strategy and vison that enables Pitney Bowes to build sustainable and performant software solutions that meet the needs of our market and communicate successfully all concepts and guidelines to the development team.
This position will sit fulltime in Troy, NY.
Be accountable for software development architectural strategy and vision
Drive architectural direction of deliverables within teams, ensure implementations are maintainable and extendable within the vison
Research architectural options and analyze technology trends. Maintain knowledge of technology and standards
Provide oversight on complex software design activities and modifications
Drive and oversee all aspects of SDLC process from requirements, design, development through to support
Promote technical communication across the company
Guide and mentor engineers on engineering best practices and play a significant role in growing the team.
As a Software Architect, you have:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred
10 years of direct experience in software development
Proficient in Java, J2EE, SOAP, REST service development and API design
Thorough knowledge of object-oriented programming and micro services architecture with a deep of understanding big data and container virtualization technologies
Strong interpersonal, analytical and troubleshooting skills with outstanding written and verbal communication.
Ability to lead and collaborate with geographically distributed teams and drive sound engineering design, process and quality practices
Experience with geocoding, address validation or web search applications and API's
Knowledgeable of development tool stack, including Jira, Jenkins (or similar "pipeline as code " tools), GIT, Docker, Maven or Gradle
Experience with AWS utilizing cloud service capabilities within software development
Understanding of the agile software development life cycle
