The Software & Digital Technology (SWDT) team at Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is looking for you to join our team as a Software Architect based out of Aurora, CO. This role involves leading the design of multiple software environment including cloud, virtual (non-cloud), and bare metal compute systems. We use a progressive, highly collaborative development environment, including Agile and traditional software development practices. The team fosters a culture of innovation, and encourages both individual and team growth. We use a fast paced development methodology supported by advanced DevOps automation technologies including continuous integration, improvement, and delivery on a modern Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 and Windows server 2016 platforms. There are opportunities to explore new technologies and innovative software best practices, and implement them within a production environment supported by a DevOps culture.
The position will also be the senior NG leadership on the program.
As the Software Architect you will:
Help define the product vision
Work collaboratively with team members, government customers, and product users to realize that vision
Shape the development environment and process
Lead design and implementation activities
Direct, influence and sculpt the software architecture
Support operations exercises, events, and training
Mentor other team members
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or other STEM related degree with 9 years software development experience; 7 years with a Masters; 4 years with PhD
Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
Experience conceptualizing and designing overall pipeline architecture
Experience leading technical teams to solve complex challenges
Previous experience implementing continuous delivery and DevOps solutions.
Expert skill in any of the following tools and systems: Git, Docker, Jenkins, Chef, Puppet, Salt
Strong operational experience in Linux/Unix/Windows environment and scripting languages: Shell, Perl, Python, Powershell.
