Responsibilities: Plan, initiate, and manage information technology (IT) projects.

Lead and guide the work of technical staff. Serve as liaison between business and technical aspects of projects. Plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage.

Monitor progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.

Confer with data processing to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects. Confer with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces. Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.

Coordinate installation of software system. Monitor functioning of equipment to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications. Obtain and evaluate information on factors such as reporting formats required, costs, or security needs to determine hardware configuration.

Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status. Recommend purchase of equipment to control dust, temperature, or humidity in area of system installation. Specify power supply requirements and configuration.

Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements. Train users to use new or modified equipment. Partner closely with other product teams and the leadership in defining the strategic technical roadmap, communicate the strategy in various forums, and make it a reality.

Identify and lead cross functional opportunities, partner with your peers in the company, and connect business objectives with the technical vision. Champion adopting industry best practices to push the development standards on the team and in the larger organization. Align the technical direction with business needs, leading the team to make the correct compromises between short-term business opportunity and long-term technical vision.

Lead Domain Modeling and Data Modeling of complex CAD systems, partnering with Product Managers and UX Designers. Lead the architecture and technical direction of multiple highly scalable data services. Lead cross-functional initiatives, partner with peers across the company to connect business objectives with technical vision.

Oversee and champion adoption of industry best practices to push development standards of the team. Lead domain/data modeling of complex CAD systems, partnering with product managers. Lead technical direction of multiple teams, perform design and code reviews towards creating maintainable systems. Coach and mentor engineers across multiple teams to ensure high quality and productivity.

Minimum Requirements:

Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related field and 8 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineer-related occupation.

Skill Requirements:

Position requires at least 8 years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Ability to leverage testing tools like Junit, TestNG and mocking frameworks to ensure thorough test coverage and code quality.

  • Experience with multi-threading, concurrency, and parallel processing to build scalable systems

  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (like Java, Go, Rust etc.) to build complex distributed systems

  • Expert in API design in standards like REST/GraphQL to build usable and efficient APIs

  • Deep understanding of modern databases including hands on experience in SQL/NoSQL databases in building horizontally scalable architectures

Position requires at least 6 years of experience in each of the following skills:

  • Experience running large scale systems with leadership experience in SRE/DevOps disciplines

  • Expert understanding and experience building distributed services on public cloud platforms like AWS

  • Experience with container technologies like Docker and container management platforms like Kubernetes

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between$174,200 - $250,000/year.

Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
