ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:

The University of South Florida Child Protection Team provides medical, psychological and psychosocial assessments to children who are victims of physical, sexual, and emotional abuse.

The purpose of these assessments is to assist the Department of Children and Families and law enforcement in their investigation of the alleged abuse and to provide recommendations to minimize the risk of re-abuse.

The Team, who is housed at Mary Lee's House at 2806 N. Armenia Avenue in Tampa, is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Child Protection Team uses a multidisciplinary approach for the evaluation and treatment of the abused and neglected child and family. The Team acts as a resource to primary investigators of allegations of abuse.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Services Practitioner provides services with the Child Protection Team to meet the contractual needs of the DOH (CMS) and Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA). Participants in the delivery of services to clients. The position is required to demonstrate the ability to prioritize forensic medical evaluations, consultations and treatment planning, facilitate psychological, psychiatric and specialist juvenile sex offender assessments and evaluations, undertake family psychosocial evaluations; crisis counseling provide expert court testimony; coordination's of services; conduct multi-disciplinary staffing's; interview parents, caregivers and children. The provision of abuse and neglect photography; consultation services to other agencies for abuse/neglect cases; provide on-call case coordination; provide training and education to other agencies and professionals within the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides oversite for the VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) program. This entails case assignment, completion of bi-weekly timesheets Maintains VOCA database to monitor client information in accordance with the contractual requirements of the Office of the Attorney General.

Maintains a caseload and completes assessments and all related documentation within specified time frame.

Attendance at designated community meetings to represent CPT as designated by Medical Director/ Asst. Director (those include, but are not limited to CADR, Dependency Meetings, CJC Bi-weekly case review, FIMR and others)

Performs other duties as required to meet programmatic goals. Including pulling abuse reports from FSFN and monthly report information in absence of staff assistant.

Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Master's degree level in Education, Special Education, Psychology, Social Work, or other field appropriate to the program content. Bachelor's degree candidates must have at least two years of applicable experience.

The Master's degree may substitute for the required experience.

This position must have either a license in clinical social work or licensed mental health counseling.

ADDITIONAL MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

This position must have a Master's degree in clinical social work or mental health counseling.
