What You Will Do

As an Associate with Providence Hospital-DC, you will have the opportunity to

Applies specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the areas of assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental, emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders, conditions and addictions.

Responsibilities:

  • Administers and interprets tests and measures of psychosocial functioning for the purpose of diagnosing mental, emotional, behavioral, addictive and developmental disorders and disabilities.

  • Develops and implements appropriate assessment-based treatment plan.

  • Consults with team managers, statutory and voluntary agencies and patient's relatives to ensure compliance with patient's treatment plan.

  • Provides crisis-oriented psychotherapy as well as short-term and long-term psychotherapy and psychotherapeutic treatment.

  • Completes documentation of patient therapy in a timely manner and in accordance with both Federal and State regulations.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):

  • One or more of the following:

  • Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice .

  • Licensed Limited Master Social Worker .

Education and Work Experience

  • Diploma.High school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience, or Associate's degree, or Technical degree required

Provides additional care for the psychiatric, ETOH/drug abuse, rape, neglected adult and child, and self-pay patients; and the highest possible care for planning a safe discharge in a timely manner and assists with projections for discharge and IDRs daily.# This position includes meeting the needs and providing services to all age groups-infancy through geriatrics, as well as providing services for the culturally diverse population MedStar Washington Hospital Center serves. Education: Master of Social Work degree from a program accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required. Documents interventions and outcomes. * Manages patient/family and provider team meetings to develop and plan strategies to overcome psychosocial and economic issues related to patient�s acute hospital stay, care progression and transition. Is liaison between patients/families and internal/external providers of care on social issues. * Provides consultation, assessment, coordination and/or referral in cases of suspected or actual child or adult abuse, neglect, domestic violence and/or sexual abuse. * Proactively identifies potential and/or actual barriers to a safe and timely discharge to assure efficient discharge planning. Identifies patient/family/significant other�s ability to participate in the plan and pro-actively establishes strategies to overcome barriers identified. * Demonstrates knowledge of resources available in the system and community and utilizes them effectively in supporting the patients during the episode of care. Advises physicians of availability of appropriate services for patients who require post hospital care. Coordinates the planning and referrals for those patients. * Maintains current knowledge of clinical treatment modalities related to assigned patient populations, clinical improvement strategies, and reimbursement issues * Maintains accurate, concise, and timely documentation in Allscripts and other WHC record-keeping systems according to standard practice. * Assists with departmental projects and other functions such as assigned to support department operations and/or assist with patient specific issues that may arise. * Actively participates in ongoing development of CRM staff by preparing and presenting two case studies per year to team.
