Title: Social Worker Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Social Worker to join our team. As a School Social Worker, you will provide essential support and services to students, families, and staff, promoting their overall well-being and academic success. Your role will involve addressing social, emotional, and behavioral concerns, collaborating with various stakeholders, and connecting individuals with appropriate community resources.
Immediate Supervisor(s): Principal of Assigned Building SBEZ Director of Student Wellness SBCSC Director of Social Workers Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify social, emotional, and behavioral needs of students Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' social and emotional growth Provide direct counseling services to students individually or in group settings Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop strategies for addressing student challenges Conduct home visits and engage families in the support process Connect students and families with community resources and services Advocate for students' needs and rights within the school and community Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement behavioral support plans Provide crisis intervention and support during emergency situations Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress Other duties as assigned by supervisors Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution Valid state license as a School Social Worker Experience working as a School Social Worker or in a similar role preferred Knowledge of child development, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed practices Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to school social work Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to build rapport with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities Proficiency in using technology for documentation and communication purposes *This position is subject to grant funding.
