This position is a Social Worker for the Partners in Autism Treatment and Habilitation (PATH) Unit located in Summerset Cottage and two group homes at Murdoch Developmental Center. This position serves as a key member of the interdisciplinary team, offering support and services to the people living at the center and their families/guardians.

The Social Worker serves as the primary liaison between the treatment team, Managed Care Organizations (MCO's), guardians/families, and community providers. Social Work positions are located within the residential divisions.

Scheduled work hours: 8:00 a.m.

  • 5:00 p.m., Monday

  • Friday, with some variations as required (e.g., QAR Rounds, Farm Day, Inclement Weather, etc.).

This position requires a four year or higher degree from an accredited school of social work. Master of Social Work (MSW); Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and one year of social work experience.  This is an ICF/IID requirement.

Murdoch Developmental Center is a 24/7 state residential facility located in Butner, NC, near the Research Triangle area. Murdoch serves individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (I/DD). Murdoch is a caring community where professionals work with people of various ages, cognitive and functional abilities.

Management Preferences:

Experience with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities; strong writing skills, communication skills, and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Employee will be required to complete Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) skills, including advanced technique skills,  and certification in first aid and CPR.

Master's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution;

OR

Bachelor's degree in social work from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience;

Master's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of directly related experience;

OR

Bachelor's degree in a human services field from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of directly related experience;

OR

An equivalent combination of education and experience.
