Summary:To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience.

You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. Individual Occupational Requirement (IOR) BASIC REQUIREMENT: Degree: In order to qualify for this position, you must have a master's degree in Social Work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:

GS-09: One (1) year of specialized experiencewith the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Examples Include: provide initial mental health evaluation, follow-up counseling, facilitate patients with available resources both public and private, coordinate additional appointments through patient evaluation, the use automated data systems for documentation narratives, therapy plans, and compliance reports.

• OR- Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in social work. GS-11:
  
  One (1) year of specialized experience with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This specialized experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Examples Include: provide comprehensive psychosocial assessments, mental health evaluations, coordinate patient care, make diagnosis, serve as liaison to health care providers and stakeholders to establish patient care plan, respond to emergency mental health situations, use counseling theories, techniques, Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM), and (DSM-5).

• OR- Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in social work or related field or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in social work. Time In Grade Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements:
  
  Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP). Selective Placement Factor: Must possess licensure as a Licensure as a certified Social Worker or equivalent certification to provide independent behavioral health services. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
