You will serve as a Social Worker in the Medical Department, Navy Expeditionary Combat Command of CDR NAVY EXPEDITIONARY COMBAT COMMAND.

You will provide a comprehensive range of complex clinical services, including psychotherapy and group therapy to mental health patients.
You will review case findings and medical history and current status to perform acute and routine psychosocial assessments.
You will conduct crisis intervention and screenings and provides case management and referral services to other mental health programs.
You will review medical history and current status to develop and implement treatment and intervention.
You will make independent decisions and recommendations for actions that have serious impact on the life of the client served.

Must be eligible for and be granted clinical healthcare practitioner privileges as specified in DoD 6025.13-R.
You will be required to meet any applicable credentialing or privileging requirements prior to appointment.

FOr GS-12 Social Worker position: In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience independently providing effective assessment and treatment for mental health services to clients who have clinical problems such as wear-and-tear injuries, moral injuries, anger and aggression, grief, and transitions to and from deployment and other discontinuities in social and environmental context and support.
Experience collecting vital client information, diagnosing using the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorder (DSM) and determining needed services.
Experience providing psycho-educational briefs to large groups, including service members and their families.
Experience acting as a liaison between mental health providers and non-providers including advocating for clients.
