  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) required with a specialization in clinical practice

  • Two years of experience as a social worker in a healthcare setting preferred

Location: Queen of the Valley Medical Center - Napa, CA Schedule: Full-time - 80 hours biweekly (Part time schedule may be an option if desired) Shift: 8-hour Days FUNCTION: Under minimal supervision and at the direction of the Director of Mission Services, the Lead Palliative Care Social Worker is responsible for the day-to-day workflow of the Palliative Care Team. The Lead Palliative Care Social Worker provides clinical expertise to department personnel and carries out clinical standards development, staff development and the continuous improvement of activities within assigned areas. Maintains clinical expertise by providing direct patient care and by attending course work to develop new professional skills as a leader and resource to the Palliative Care Team. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Knowledgeable of a full range of specialized and expert clinical social work / counseling services for patients / families receiving palliative care * Organization and prioritization skills and ability to renegotiate deadlines * Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills for providing Palliative Care social work and daily management of the work flow for the Palliative Care Team. * Comfortable speaking in public forums and leading presentations * Basic computer skills JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education: Masters Degree in Social Work Experience: * Minimum of three (3) years relevant clinical experience required * Minimum of one year of experience working in Palliative Care, chronically ill patients or like patients PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: * Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Registered Associate Clinical Social Worker in process of obtaining license. * Palliative Care Certification * Experience in a leadership role * Ability to speak Spanish #ind123 For 50 years, Queen of the Valley Medical Center has been the premiere medical facility in the Napa Valley.
