Job Description:

EdAdvance is seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to provide school-based mental health services and support to Canton Middle School (CMS) students. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a high level of professionalism, emotional intelligence, and a genuine passion for helping students thrive academically. The role requires a deep commitment to fostering students' well-being and guiding them toward achieving their educational goals.

Major Responsibilities:

• Climate and Culture Support: The social worker will support the implementation of the Tier 1 Resilience Grows Here programming, focusing on climate and culture initiatives during Advisory. These efforts will foster resilience and positive behavioral skills among students.

• Home Visit Facilitation: In collaboration with the PPS team, the social worker will facilitate home visits in Canton, ensuring a strong connection between families and the school, and providing necessary behavioral health support.

• CMS Thrive Program: The social worker will also provide therapeutic support for the CMS Thrive Program, promoting strengths-based problem-solving, resilience, and social skills development in participating students.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• In depth knowledge of best practices for delivering school-based counseling services

• Strong ability to develop therapeutic relationships with students and working relationships with adults

• Excellent written and oral communication skills

• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities

• Proven ability to effectively problem-solve and adapt to shifting priorities

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Experience working with children/adolescents in a school setting preferred

• Candidate must hold a valid CT Certification as a School Social Worker (071)
