The mission of The Bridge at ACES is to provide opportunities for our students to create personalized academic, behavioral and goal-driven outcomes. Through focused and intentional behavioral skill building, the students will have an increased awareness of triggered reactions, while learning new behavioral responses which will assist the students in becoming productive citizens within their communities.
The Bridge at ACES is seeking a certified School Social Worker to provide social emotional, Trama Informed Counseling and Education, Dialectical Behavioral, Restorative Practice services within an individual and group environment. The School Social Worker will also provide direct and indirect services to students, families, and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social successes.

CSDE Requirements:
The Connecticut State Department of Education requirements to become certified as a school social worker in Connecticut include the following:
Hold a Master's degree in social work from a school of social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; and
Complete a course of study in special education comprised of not fewer than 36 clock hours, which shall include study in understanding the growth and development of exceptional children, including handicapped and gifted and talented children and children who may require special education; and methods for identifying, planning for, and working effectively with special-needs children in the regular classroom. This requirement does not apply to individuals who receive a MSW from an out-of-state school.
