Clinical Social Worker

This position is currently located within the Department of Public Safety but will transfer to the Department of Adult Correction when it is established on January 1st, 2023.

If fully licensed candidates are not available, we will consider LCSW Associates. Please note that candidates must have successfully passed their LCSW exam prior to employment. Provisionally licensed candidates will be brought in through our LCSW-A Trainee progression until they become fully licensed to practice without supervision. Salaries will increase as candidates meet the experience criteria listed below:

Phase I (Less than 12 months experience) $40,642.00

Phase II (12-18 months experience) $42,294.00

Phase III (18-24 months experience) $43.872.00

Phase IV (24 months experience - full licensure) $44,862.00

This position is located at Alexander Correctional Institution in Taylorsville, NC, a 1,000 bed close custody prison.

The licensed clinical social worker will act as a facilitator, mediator, mobilizer, advocate, teacher, evaluator, planner, data manager, and consultant.

Duties include, but are not limited to, consultation, participation as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, crisis/emergency intervention, DD treatment plan development and management, group counseling, individual counseling, family intervention, screening referrals, social histories, treatment summaries, case progress notes, community resource development, community referrals, nursing home/rest home/group home/family care home/halfway house/three-quarter house/shelter placements, development and facilitation of social skills groups. Inpatient, outpatient, or substance abuse (voluntary or involuntary), guardianship procedures, case formulations, transfer summaries, mental health assessments, comprehensive social histories, development and facilitation of psychosocial-educational-recreational groups, oversight of the Developmentally Disabilities Case Management Program for this unit. Diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of mental illness, emotional disorders and/or mental retardation. Development and facilitation of anger management groups. Provision of Aftercare Planning and facilitation of the Medicaid application process for inmates referred by the Medicaid Program Manager.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with State Benefits.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Master's degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work. Licensure is required from NC SW Certification and Licensure Board. Necessary Special Qualification Requirements

  • One must fulfill all requirements for Licensure in North Carolina as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker as required by the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensure Board.

This is skilled work in rendering technical assistance to dentists in the care of dental patients. <br><br> Positions provide primary clinical support for patient care by performing dental assisting duties in a variety of clinical settings, i.e., emergency care, general dentistry, restorative dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, orthodontics, prosthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, and radiology. Duties performed include maintaining inventories of supplies and equipment, cleaning and sterilizing instruments, preparing and arranging instrument trays for clinical use, explaining procedures and providing support to patients, passing instruments to the dentist during dental procedures, preparing impression and filling materials, operating oral evacuation equipment, retractors, and water/air sprays, monitoring the patient's behavior and vital signs as requested by the dentist, completing patient records and charts, billings and reappointments, clearing and cleaning the operatory and instruments, taking routine x-rays and photographs, and instructing patient, family, and/or health care staff in basic oral hygiene. Positions in this class typically have some responsibility for orienting dental and dental assistant students in the utilization of dental assistants in office management, patient relations, and routine chair-side procedures.
