Conduct focused psychosocial assessments of patients.
Counsel individuals, couples, families, and/or groups utilizing a variety of evidence-based psychological treatment modalities.
Provide specialized intervention for patients with a broad range of behavioral health problems (e.g., depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and anxiety.)
Evaluate treatment effectiveness to make adjustments to patient's treatment plan as appropriate.
Occasional travel - Up to 5% Business Travel is required.

Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) Training and certification sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Advanced certification (e.g., Advanced Life Support) does not supersede BLS completion.
Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges.
Position is designated as Inclement Weather Essential. The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions.

Basic Requirement for a Social Worker (Clinical):
Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Experience required: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one years of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized Experience: an adult treatment population, conducting psychological assessments, formulating diagnostic or treatment recommendations, and providing individual or group therapy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
License: You MUST submit a copy of your current, active, valid, unrestricted clinical license to practice Social Work independently, offered by a U.S. State, District of Columbia, commonwealth, territory or jurisdiction.
