Broughton Hospital is currently accepting applications for multiple Social Worker

  • Clinical (LCSW) positions.  The LCSW is a member of the interdisciplinary Treatment Team, which is responsible for care and treatment of patients admitted to the hospital. Responsibilities include performing biopsychosocial assessments and developing treatment plans with other team members. The LCSW is responsible for working collaboratively to develop a discharge plan with the patient, support system and community resources. This individual is also responsible for providing family and individual interventions, psychosocial education, as well as facilitating therapeutic groups. This individual may work with patients that are legally Incapable To Proceed (ITP), which would include involvement with individual capacity restoration services and liaison work with community legal systems.

The normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm; however, flexibility is required based on hospital need.

  • This position is designated Mandatory and must report or stay over during adverse weather events.

Management will consider a Trainee with LCSW-Associate licensure if no fully qualified applicants apply. Applicant must be licensed or licensed eligible. Please see Trainee rates below.

Please Note: LCSW-A applicants are not eligible for the Sign-On Bonus.

Salary Grade:  NC14

Recruitment Range:   $49,158 - $86,026

Trainee Rates:  0 - 11 months = $52,000; 12 - 24 months = $55,000; and 24 months w/permanent license = $58,000

 *Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7

Qualified candidates must document on the application that they clearly possess the following:

  • Master's degree from an appropriately accredited school of social work

  • Licensure is required from NC SW Certification and Licensure Board

Management prefers candidates with the following:

  • Documented knowledge of NC Community Mental Health System

  • Experience in an inpatient psychiatric environment

  • Ability to function as a member of an Interdisciplinary team

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)

Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus

Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:

  • A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).

An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:

  • The employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);

  • The employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;

  • Or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
