This Social Worker 3 or 4 (full-time) position is for a vacancy located in our Mandeville Behavioral Health Clinic in Mandeville, Louisiana. Please see the examples of work below for additional information on this position.

These positions are in a Career Progression Series and may be filled as either a Social Worker 3 or a Social Worker 4, depending on the applicant's level of experience and licensure.

These positions may be filled as either a Probational Appointment or a Job Appointment. For Probational Appointments, applicants may be asked to serve a probationary period that may be anywhere from 6 months to 24 months.

We strongly recommend individuals who have substance abuse treatment experience or have passed the ADC, AADC, or EMAC exam at the time of appointment apply to this posting.

Salary may be negotiable depending on the chosen applicant's level of experience. Below is a list of the pay range(s) for the position(s). NOTE: The following rates are Special Entrance Rates (SER) established for this agency in these job titles:

  • Social Worker 3: $22.76/hour minimum - $37.88/hour maximum

  • Social Worker 4: $24.35/hour minimum - $40.53/hour maximum

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work followed by two years of professional level social services experience.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:

Positions require possession ofLicensure as a Licensed Master's Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) by the Louisiana State Board of Social Work Examiners.

NOTE:

The master's degree in social work must be from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, 1701 Duke Street, Suite 200, Alexandria, VA22314.

Differs from the Social Worker 5-A by the absence of responsibility of serving as sole social worker of a facility having full managerial responsibility over a facility's social services program.

Differs from the Social Worker 5-B by the absence of direct supervisory responsibilities.

Examples of Work

This clinician position provides clinical assessment and treatment of clients with various mental health diagnoses, substance use disorders, medication assisted treatment, and high-risk patients in crisis. The clinician completes comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, treatment plans, screenings, treatment via individual/family/group therapy, as well as discharge plans for patients, and families as needed. The clinician works on an interdisciplinary treatment team in order to provide thorough and comprehensive care, as well as continuity of care, and will prepare and send progress reports to the appropriate social service agencies and referral sources as required. The clinician may also assist in the acquisition of appropriate resources as needed.The clinician may also collect routine urine drug samples for labs and rapid assessment if required.

Additionally, the clinician attends annual and PRN trainings and webinars to improve competency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. The clinician also works collaboratively with Peer Support Specialists, Case Management, and Care Coordination for patients with mental health and substance use disorder that may require additional support and coordination of services.
