The Graduate Assistant would assist with the administrative tasks associated with the Field program of the Department of Social Work.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the planning and coordination of special events sponsored by the Field Program including the following: Night of Professional Development, NASW Conference attendance, Hamilton Center Collaborative Conferences, and other events as scheduled.

  • Assisting with BSW and MSW student recruitment.

  • Collecting data from community agencies regarding agency internship needs.

  • Providing orientation and mentoring to undergraduate students as they prepare for their initial placements in field agencies, including a presentation during the initial orientation.

  • Developing and delivering monthly training for social work interns that focus on relevant topics to further enhance professional development.

  • Assist in responding to ISU Sonia (field documentation software) support requests.

Work Schedule

Monday-Friday between the hours of 8-4:30 PM

Very Detail-oriented, organized, accountable, multitask, communication skills, and has knowledge in using technology. Can be able to balance different work projects and give detailed reports and summaries daily/weekly on progress of projects.

Job Duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responds to communications with supervisor in a quick and timely manner. Will be able to finalize projects on time. Also, keep a weekly time sheet to keep track of hours worked.
