Social Services Program Specialist 2 - Underfill

The Position

Social Services Program Specialists perform administrative and professional work in conjunction with the administration of statewide public assistance, medical assistance, or social services programs.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others.

This opening is for a Social Services Program Specialist 2 (Underfill for Social Services Program Specialist 3) within the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy (DHCFP) Managed Care and Quality Assurance (MCQA) unit, in Carson City NV. This position provides professional program support for the Managed Care and Quality Assurance Unit in the Division of Health Care Finance and Policy under the Department of Health and Human Services located in Carson City, Nevada.

The incumbent is responsible for providing a variety of program oversight activities related to federal quality and compliance regulations of a Pre Ambulatory Health Program and multiple Managed Care Entities. Specific responsibilities include compliance reviews, network adequacy analysis, performance measure analysis, performance improvement project oversight, as well as several other quality and compliance activities. The incumbent is responsible for completing 1915(b) waiver applications, updating Medicaid Services Manual Chapters, revising Medicaid State Plan documents.

Communicating with members, providers, and multiple state and federal staff members. The incumbent is responsible for reading, interpreting, and explaining state laws and federal regulations to co-workers, administrative staff members, and the public.
