Position description

To develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services to meet the social service needs of Skilled Care Center residents. To conduct information and referral, recruitment, admissions and discharge functions.

Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Social Services or Social Work. The individual must have prior experience working with a group program or organized recreational activities.

Additional qualifications

Experience working with the geriatric population is preferred.

License or certification

Requires a license by the Minnesota Board of Social Work at minimum a LSW (Licensed Social Worker). Candidates who have recently taken the Minnesota Board of Social Work license test may apply. Candidates who already have a test date scheduled may also apply.

Compensation Detail

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum pay rate is $20.90 per hour.

Schedule details

Temporary position for coverage needed during an upcoming maternity leave. Approximate coverage needed March 1 - July 1, 2020.

Accepting applications immediately to ensure coverage during the absence. Daytime business hours between 7 am - 5 pm. Time beyond 5 pm is rare and occasional and is based on need and coverage required.

Hours range between .7 and full-time based on the census of the Short-Term Rehab. Center and other Charter House Social Services related coverage needs.

Weekend schedule

Weekend work is typically not required unless coverage for other Social Services areas is needed.

Keeps employees and supervisors informed of day-to-day operational issues that effect production, work assignments, milestones, deadlines and any situation that could impact work unit output, and works collaboratively with others to problem solve. Acts as the principal liaison between customers and their assigned work area, matching specific customer needs with the appropriate resources or equipment and working with the customer to ensure appropriate and attainable milestones and deadlines are agreed to. Serves as a key resource for the most effective way to achieve excellent results for the customer, often crossing boundries to ensure upstream-and down-stream design and production capacity is appropriately assigned. Works closely with the leadership to offer insight into the overall direction of their work area, and to develop and compile work unit metrics to provide reports and pertinent information, compiling production statistics as needed. May facilitate process improvement within the work unit and/or in conjunction with other work units within MSS. Telework is a possibility and will be discussed after the employee has been working a couple of months in the department. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Media, Communications, Industrial Engineering, Finance, or related field, and a minimum of three (3) years' professional employment experience in daily operations and production coordination OR an Associate's degree with at least five (5) years of professional employment in daily operations and production coordination. Additional qualifications Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as superior time and resource management skills. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, and a broad knowledge and understanding of the current technologies and challenges related to the area of production within the Unit. Demonstrated familiarity with the use and application of a wide variety of graphic arts, printing, job tracking, and office software programs as related to the select area of production. Demonstrated ability to develop interpersonal and interdepartmental relationships in order to lead others and function effectively in collaborative situations. Demonstrated skill and experience in decisive and effective decision-making, consensus management, understanding of business needs, and team building within the work unit and the institution.
