Social Ministries Manager

REPORTS TO: Corps Officers

SUPERVISES: Interns, Volunteers

STATUS: Exempt

SCHEDULE: Full Time (40 Hours)

FUNCTION: Within a time frame of Christ-centered transformation, the Social Ministries Manager coordinates all relief and development ministries of The Salvation Army in Clark County, Ohio including emergency safety-net services and supports. The Social Ministries Manager focuses on direct-service provision and oversight, cultivating relationships, engaging in community programming, and planning and partnering with other available community resources.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must possess management, organizational and creativity skills.

• Must have a heart for God and for the well-being of others.

• Must possess the ability to function independently or in a team environment.

• Must possess basic office skills including use of the computer and required databases.

• Excellent team player with social intelligence and teachability.

• Effective team leader with the ability to engage, mobilize and coordinate resourceful people and groups

• Effective trainer of interns and volunteers

• Strong initiative and ability to work independently

• Strong creative and written/verbal communication skills

• Knowledge of community resources and understanding of family systems, trauma, poverty and asset-based participatory development.

• Experience and facility in networking with others

• Case management experience with precision in documentation and high level of organization

• Able to multi-task and meet hard deadlines

• Valid Driver's license with comfort in driving larger official vehicles

Education and Experience:

• BS Degree in Ministry or related field OR two year's work experience in the related field.

• Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent in Human Services field or minimum of five years experience
