The Role

WaitWhat is looking for a full-time social media editor who can communicate with passionate audiences using data-driven insights and your own creativity, as we work together to bring new media launches to scale and build communities around them.


Youll have a minimum of four years of professional experience in social media, with a proven ability to turn analytics into actions, and to create meaningful social media experiences that enrich communities and expand audiences. You enjoy both setting strategy and executing the day-to-day through paid and organic social.

  • Responsibilities

  • Develop social media strategies for the properties on the WaitWhat roster, working with creators and guests to develop voice and approach
  • Execute those strategies daily, combining insights from data with your own exceptional writing skills
  • Monitor and modify those strategies based on audience insights
  • Create simple visual and animated assets for sharing, and oversee creation of more complex assets
  • Gather and interpret metrics for creators and partners across platforms and properties
  • Plan and execute paid social campaigns, especially around launches
  • Follow industry news and experiment with emerging tools and techniques
  • Manage partner relationships around social campaigns
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

    Requirements

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Minimum 4 years of professional social media experience, with a proven track record in building and expanding social audiences.
    • Professional experience with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
    • Professional experience with relevant social media monitoring tools.
    • Excellent writing skills, and an ability to write for a range of editorial voices.
    • Excellent spelling and grammar skills (bonus points if you spot the typo in this listing).
    • Basic design skills using Photoshop or Canva, and simple video subtitling tools such as Kapwing or Headliner.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask on deadline.
    • Confidence in executing tasks independently, working with remote team members, and interacting with peers and senior executives at partner companies.
    • Newsletter experience is a big plus

Faherty is looking for a Social Media Strategist to own our organic social media channels and grow our community in an authentic way. This role will work closely with and report to our Senior Manager, Brand Marketing and Community, to execute a strategy and content calendar that speaks to our product, lifestyle, and ongoing impact work. This individual will test and build new strategies, brainstorm and execute fresh ideas, produce platform-specific content and analyze social performance, while staying in tune with the latest social media marketing trends. What youll do: * Manage strategy, planning, and execution for Fahertys social media channels, including daily posts, platform management, and consumer engagement. * Develop and build out a brand presence on new social media platforms for the brand, such as Pinterest and TikTok. * Create platform-specific content (photo, video, stories) and copy, with a fun and witty spin on it. * Identify impactful tactics to grow the brands social media following and engagement across Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and Pinterest. * Maintain a consistent voice, personality, and look and feel for the brand across all social media channels. * Engage with Fahertys communities through authentic conversations and ensure brand-related questions, comments, and opportunities are addressed with speed, good judgment, and in alignment with the brand voice. * Help define and execute influencer marketing strategy with Senior Manager, Brand Marketing and Community and PR agency. * Define metrics and KPIs to measure the success and impact of social efforts across channels, continuously improve performance through analysis and insights. * Stay up-to-date on new social media tools, best practices, competitive activity, and other social media leaders to best leverage technology and trends relevant to Faherty. Must have qualifications include: * BS/BA degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field. * 2-3 years experience in a dedicated social media role, preferably at a fashion, apparel or lifestyle brand/agency. * Strong understanding of social media and digital landscape. * A strong and witty storyteller, able to distill content into bite-sized social media captions and images. * Experience in iPhone content creation for social media platforms - such as Instagram Reels, Instagram Stories, TikTok and more. * Keen understanding of Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, Snap, Pinterest, YouTube. * Experience with social operational tools like content management, publishing, and reporting experience. * Proficiency in Photoshop, Sketch, and/or InDesign preferred. * Goal oriented and ability to work in a fast-paced environment * Strong communication skills * Already a Faherty fan!
