Summary of Functions
The Social Media Strategist is responsible for developing and implementing the social media strategy for the Kalispel Tribal Economic Authority (KTEA), which includes but is not limited to Northern Quest Resort & Casino and Kalispel Casino. This position is responsible for developing and administering social media strategy, content development and online community engagement for all assigned pages and across platforms. The position is also required to collect and analyze data to develop more effective strategies and campaigns. This position necessitates work during standard and non-standard business hours to meet our guests online when they are active. With social media as a dynamic media channel functioning 24/7/365, this position also requires superior time management skills to ensure Northern Quest is responsive online at key times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Strategy
Provide thought leadership on social media related matters and drive social media strategies that are proven through testing and verification
Participate in and lend key coordination to the execution of a results-driven social media strategy
Brainstorm, map and communicate a comprehensive content plan for all pages rooted in best practice
Integrate each businesses marketing strategy into social media deliverables and use social channels to further the goals of all active campaigns (i.e. integrated marketing tactics)
Analyze, review, and report on the effectiveness of social media
Analyze key metrics, and translate anecdotal and qualitative data into recommendations for realigning social media strategy to maximize results
Advise on activities, including insights and trends, which help shape and drive content decisions
Monitor effective benchmarks and best practices for social media
Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design, and strategy
Implement ongoing education to remain highly effective
Develop an optimal posting schedule considering customer engagement insights
Participate in the development and management of social media marketing and influencer marketing strategies
Content Creation
Create, curate, and manage a schedule of relevant content for all company-owned Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media platforms deemed critical
Develop organizational contacts to implement a proactive process for capturing and creating content for all channels
Understand and utilize various tools of the trade at an expert level and work with other departmental resources to create brand-appropriate content for all pages
Apply the key principles of storytelling to all content creation work and lead execution of these ideas on deadline
Optimize all content creation to capture attention, curiosity, and action within our audiences
Skillfully blend newly developed visual assets and existing material
Adeptly compose well written, for trend and voice, social media posts to accompany created graphic content
Online Community Engagement
Conduct online advocacy for Northern Quest and the Tribe's businesses, and implement a stream for cross-promotion among them
Monitor consumer sentiments online through social listening and respond to users adequately to grow customer engagement, reach, and followers
Drive a sense of community amongst our various audiences and seek out opportunities for conversation
Foster interactivity, engagement, community growth, trust and loyalty with our audiences
Community moderation, including answering comments and questions, prompting further engagement, escalating issues, following up on issues and maintaining community standards
Track social sentiment and work with the social media team to leverage key insights to further our social media goals
Stay current with the changing and dynamic landscape of social media and its platforms to ensure maximum effectiveness
Monitor other social media channels for industry trends
Seek guidance on potential negative or controversial issues from the Director of Public Relations and Director of Marketing
Other
Ensure compliance with the Kalispel Tribe of Indians-Internal Controls and NQRC Policies and Procedures.
Manage time effectively for work during non-standard and standard business hours in accordance with Northern Quest's social strategy and at optimal times for our audience's active periods.
May be required to be a panelist for the Internal Review Hearings.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Education
Experience
At least three years of experience in marketing, public relations, advertising, or a related field
Direct professional experience navigating social media platforms on behalf of a business, organization, or enterprise
Demonstratable knowledge of content creation for social media - the ability to select, edit and enhance images using creator tools + write, edit, and compose social media posts in line with strategy, voice, and brand
Demonstratable knowledge of social responding and application of frontline customer service to online communities
Skills
Individual must be a strong communicator with excellent writing, language, presentation, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
Creativity and documented immersion in social media and online activities such as blogging, community development and management, social bookmarking, and online publishing
Well-rounded proficiency for content creation for social media - the ability to select, edit and enhance content with creator tools + write, edit, and compose social media posts in line with strategy, voice, and brand
Experience with Adobe CS is required
Strong knowledge in the use of social publishing tools (i.e., Hootsuite, AgoraPulse, Later)
Strong knowledge of Google Analytics
Strong knowledge of SEO
Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side, able to demonstrate why their ideas are analytically sound
Proficient in content marketing theory and application

Possesses knowledge and experience in the tenets of both digital and traditional marketing

Ability to make recommendations based on facts, data and experience
Other Requirements
Must be able to obtain and maintain Tribal Work Permit.
Must be willing to sign a legally binding non-competition contract that prohibits activity that directly conflicts with the integrity of Kalispel Tribe Economic Authority's business interests and its affiliate organizations as specified within the contract, for the duration of time listed.
Social Media is a 24/7 media channel. As such, the candidate must be willing to work a flexible schedule with work often in the evening, on weekends and holidays pertaining to the needs of the position.
All candidates may be asked to submit a portfolio of work showcasing their aptitude of the core functions of this position.
All candidates are required to complete testing to demonstrate their ability to accomplish the core functions of this position.
