The International Mission Board, a nonprofit religious organization in Richmond, VA, is hiring for a Social Media Strategist!
Hours: Full time, Richmond, VA
Rate: $57,200/year minimum + great benefits!
In conjunction with communication and marketing leadership, designs, creates and manages social media campaigns which reinforce IMB messaging. Collaborates with Web content coordinator, writers, designers, editors, photographers, and video producers to create social media content.
Monitor social media channels, engaging users or notifying leadership when appropriate. Ensures content posted by IMB, or about IMB, is secure and appropriate. Assists in monitoring PR/CAT issues, as assigned.
Serves as the in-house expert on social media for communication outcomes. Strategizes the best use of IMB social media platforms and opportunities to expand IMB's reach to its audiences. Educates IMB staff about how to use social media platforms. Maintains awareness of best practices, new opportunities, and changes in social media.
Travels nationally and internationally, as needed, for social media campaigns and related communication outputs/outcomes.
3-5 years' experience in a related field
Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Understands the Southern Baptist Convention constituency. Understands IMB's task and purpose in the SBC. Understands the collaboration necessary within the SBC, and internally among IMB teams, to accomplish IMB mission objectives.
Formally trained professional with degree and proficiency in communications or marketing (portfolio required).
Experience maintaining social media channels for a sizeable organization or company.
Advanced proficiency in social media platforms utilized by IMB (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram). Proficiency in WordPress.
Works quickly and efficiently to produce quality material under daily deadline pressure.
Understands security parameters for content produced/published by IMB.
Cognizant of reputation management trusts and follows senior leadership's direction on specific topics or issues.
Ability to travel as needed, both stateside and internationally, as assigned.
