About the role

Character.AI is looking for an innovative social media manager to lead and own the end-to-end Character.AI social media strategy and execution on TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and other social channels. Your primary focus will be building out Character.AI's presence on these channels by creating content, engaging with audiences, and expanding audiences beyond the core. In addition, you will identify and work with a short list of creators to support them in creating high-quality content and promoting Character.AI features and benefits.

Your goal is to boost awareness and interest in trying Character.AI by engaging in trends that elevate the brand, creating content that educates consumers on product value across use cases, and growing our current and new audience.

The role is onsite 3-5 days/week in Menlo Park, CA.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy and execution for Character.AI's social media presence on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other social channels

• Engage with audiences and expand to new audiences

• Create video content that educates consumers about the range of ways they can use Character.AI and specific product features

• Proactively identify key creators and support them in creating high-quality content about how they use Character.AI

• Analyze trends on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and other social channels. Test, learn and optimize how to insert Character.AI in to top on-brand trends, manage content and performance.

• Own the social media editorial calendar, including copy, content, design, and measurement of media activities to support our marketing and communications objectives

• Manage relationships with external vendors such as creators, agencies, or contractors

Job Requirements

• 5+ years digital marketing experience with a minimum of 3 years in organic social media

• Experience growing an audience on TikTok and other social channels to significant size for an early stage startup

• Experience creating social media content for and engaging with Gen Z audiences and broad consumer audiences

• Great storytelling ability to communicate and connect with key audiences. Strong understanding of storytelling brand and design.

• Experience working in a startup and/or dynamic environment.

• Flexible, resourceful, independent, communicative

Nice to Have

• Video editing skills (ex. iMovie), design (ex. Photoshop) and copywriting

• Experience with paid social media advertising
