This position is responsible for planning, producing, and publishing content designed to increase engagement across the University's primary digital and social media platforms. This position applies creativity and storytelling skills to help tell the University's story and advance key brand messages.  This position is required to work on campus.

  • Plan, create, and post original, engaging, and branded content across all official university social media platforms; 

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities including planning, creating, and scheduling relevant and engaging content, writing copy to ensure proper responsive action taken by viewership, capturing photos and videos, and developing paid ad campaigns;

  • Monitor social channels for community engagement and conversation opportunities, and respond appropriately to follower comments and messages; 

  • Track, analyze, and report social media metrics to determine effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven content decisions; 

  • Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to coordinate university-wide content consistency, and provide strategic social media counsel to internal stakeholders to optimize promotional opportunities across the institution; 

  • Work collaboratively with vendors and university partners to ensure efficacy of new and existing marketing campaigns as they pertain to university social media presence; 

  • Continuously develop and maintain a monthly content calendar aligned with university enrollment goals and strategic plans; 

  • Follow social media best practices, and stay up-to-date on social media trends, tools, channels, design, and strategies; 

  • Develop innovative and actionable creative initiatives to assist in meeting seasonal enrollment goals; 

  • Plan, produce, and publish content that promotes the brand and drives engagement on digital platforms, including the university website; 

  • Shoot and edit photographs and videos, as needed with the support of our campus production team; 

  • Develop effective promotional materials for university events; 

  • Develop and optimize existing social media platform strategies, including establishing new presences on emerging platforms and invigoration around current opportunities; 

  • Communicate professionally and consistently with the campus community and prospective students as it pertains to the department's role in developing the University's digital presence; 

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES:

Assist in various marketing and communication projects to support the department and university priorities.

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, marketing, journalism, English, or a closely-related field is required;

  • Minimum of one year of experience in journalism, digital communication, marketing, social media, or a related field is required;

  • Photography and video-editing/storytelling experience is required;

  • Expert knowledge of social media tools, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc. is required.
