We are looking for a senior art director to partner with our client, a luxury beauty brand, in the social media creative department. This role is first and foremost focused on social media. You must be deeply involved in social creative. The Senior Art Director in the social media creative department plays a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity and storytelling of the brand across various social media platforms. This position requires a creative visionary who can lead projects from start to finish, create groundbreaking and disruptive visual content, and ensure that the brand remains relevant and engaging in the social digital landscape. This role operates in a hybrid model with several days onsite at the client in NYC and 2 days remote.

Responsibilities

Visual Strategy

- Develop and execute visual strategies that align with the brand’s marketing objectives.

- Create a consistent and cohesive visual identity that resonates with Gen-Z audience and local markets.

- Stay informed and alert about industry trends from IG/TT and incorporate them into visual strategy.

Content Creation

- Create visually disruptive and engaging content for social media platforms.

- Experience in filming and editing videos for social purposes, including ad-hoc, briefing materials, event coverages and internal meetings.

- Produce graphics, videos, animations, and other multimedia assets.

- Ensure all content is on-brand and aligns with campaign goals.

- Oversee and participate in the entire content creation process, from ideation and storyboarding to execution and post-production.

Collaboration

- Work closely with the social content team to understand campaign objectives as well as cross-functional creative teams to stay on top of brand’s changes and creatives.

- Provide creative input and insights to enhance storytelling on social media.

- Work collaboratively on content calendars, ensuring that visual content seamlessly complements the overall narrative and goals of the campaigns.

Trend Awareness

- Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, design techniques, and social media best practices to remain at the forefront of digital creativity.

- Actively adapt visual content to incorporate emerging trends and technologies, ensuring the brand remains relevant and competitive in the ever-evolving digital landscape.

- Explore innovative ways to integrate new visual formats and technologies into campaigns.

Quality Assurance

- Maintain brand consistency across all social media visuals and assets.

- Conduct quality checks to ensure the highest standards of visual content.

- Address feedback and necessary revisions to improve content quality.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree or above in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or a related field.

- A minimum of 8+ years of proven experience as an Art Director in a social media or digital marketing context.

- Strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects specifically on social media platforms.

- Previous experience in working with external partners/agencies and content creators/influencers.

- Proficiency in industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.)

- Exceptional creative and conceptual thinking abilities with a strong visual aesthetic.

- Ability to translate complex ideas into visually engaging content.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey creative concepts and ideas effectively.

- Strong project management skills to oversee multiple campaigns and projects simultaneously.

- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment and adapt to changing priorities.

- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and digital marketing best practices.

- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms and their specific requirements for visual content

- Proficiency and knowledge in video editing and animation software (Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro) is a huge plus!

Benefits

The anticipated salary range for this role is $100,000 - $110,000 annually. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience, and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
